Kilby Lodge is a private-sector organization subject to British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act(PIPA) and Canada's federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for inter-provincial or international activities. We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (e.g., health or government IDs) through the website. Payment card data, if needed, is entered directly into our PCI-compliant payment processor and never touches our servers.

3. Why We Collect and How We Use It

1. Respond to inquiries and confirm reservations (primary purpose).
2. Deliver the lodging and guided-fishing services you requested.
3. Process payments and issue invoices/receipts.
4. Send operational or safety notices related to your stay or tour.
5. Market our offers and upcoming promotions by email where we have your express or implied

6. Improve our website and services through aggregated analytics.

Under PIPA/PIPEDA, we limit collection to information a reasonable person would consider appropriate and rely on your express consent(checkbox or emall opt-in) or impiled consent wnen you voluntarily provide the data for an obvious purpose. (BC Laws)

4. Marketing Communications & CASL Compliance

  • Commercial emails contain our lodge identification and a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • You may withdraw consent at any time; we honour requests within 10 business days.
  • If you are an existing guest, we may rely on implied consent for similar offers for up to two years after your last stay, unless you opt out. (CRTC)

Some suppliers store data on servers outside Canada (notably the United States). Your information may therefore be subject to foreign laws and access by foreign governments and courts. We assess vendors and rely on contractual clauses and industry-standard security to protect your data in transit and at rest.
